Elegant April Memorial Award

Since its inception in 2004, Elegant Paint Horses offers an annual memorial award at the APHA World Show to honor the memory of Elegant April. 

The Elegant April Memorial World Show Award is a three-tier award scale and that is awarded to the 14-18 youth/horse combination demonstrating excellence in the English events at the APHA World Show.

The Elegant April Memorial World Show Awards are as follows:

  • Tier I: $100 cash and a memorial trophy will be presented annually to the 14-18 youth/horse combination who wins the World Championship in Youth Working Hunter.
  • Tier II: $250 cash and a memorial trophy will be presented to the 14-18 youth/horse combination winning World Championships in Youth Working Hunter and Youth Hunter Hack.
  • Tier III: $500 cash and a memorial trophy will be presented to the 14-18 youth/horse combination winning World Championships in Youth Working Hunter, Youth Hunter Hack, and Youth Hunter Under Saddle  and/or the Youth Hunt Seat Equitation.
